Rawan Al-Moughrabi

Rawan Al-Moughrabi is a Syrian archaeologist, born in Damascus. She completed her university studies at the University of Damascus, Faculty of Arts, Department of Archeology, and obtained a BA in Archeology in 2005, after which she completed to obtain a diploma in Classical Archeology from Damascus University in 2006.

Since graduation, she worked with many archaeological missions, foreign and local, in a number of Syrian archaeological sites, like the Italian mission at Ebla archaeological site in northern Syria, this mission was under the supervision of Professor Paolo Mattei.

She also worked in many museums, research centers and archaeological studies centers, including the Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums of Syria, and the Al-Bassel Center for Archaeological Studies and Research in Damascus, and the tasks varied between archaeological studies, writing specialized articles and working in translation for studies and articles.

She also studied in many specialized courses related to the field of physical anthropology, provided by international centers and universities, one of the most important one was the University of Arizona in the United States of America, among these courses:

Human Origins – Introduction to human evolution – Bipedalsim: The Science of Upright Walking

And many other specialized courses.

Recently she is active in the field of writing and translation of studies and articles specialized in physical anthropology, she specialized in translation from English and Swedish into Arabic, and has published many articles, studies and translations of its own on the Internet in her blog, which she called “Anassi” which is the plural of the Arabic word “Enssan” which means human being.
