This paper is dated back to the 9th \/ 10th century AD, and it was sold in an auction entitled &#8220;Arts of the Islamic world and India, including fine carpets&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Qur&#8217;an manuscript was estimated between 5,000 and 7,000 pounds and sold for 7,560 pounds. The signs of the ten and five verses are golden, the commas are molded in gold and outlined in dark brown, and the headings of the surahs are in gold framed and outlined in dark brown ink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be noted that three papers of this Quran were sold at the auction, two on April 25, 2002, and the other one at Christie&#8217;s London, on October 18, 1994.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sotheby&#8217;s in London sold a Quranic paper in Kufic script, in North Africa or the Near East.
