In 1999 Mr. Showhan graduated from the Department of Antiquities at the University of Damascus, he directly began work in the archaeological field with DGAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Showhan was responsible for several archaeological missions that have worked in Deir Ezzor as Syrian co-director of the French, Spanish and Japanese missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, Mr. Showhan worked as Director of Antiquities and Museums in Deir Ezzor \/ Syria, and Director of the Mesopotamia Heritage Documentation Center. He became a member of many committees and scientific institutions such as ICOMOS, al-Adiyat association, and Arab Archaeologists Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the years of the conflict in Syria, Showhan worked in many humanitarian tasks in cooperation with UNICEF and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is now working freelance in the archaeological studies and researches in regarding documentation of tangible and intangible heritage, and procedures of the preservation and reconstruction of Syrian cultural heritage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also works to monitor violations and abuses on the archaeological sites in the eastern region of Syria and is linked with a group of specialists to monitor and follow up and documenting smuggled artifacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yasser Showhan is a member of thearchaeologist.news, he writes articles, researches, and news about Syrian cultural heritage<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yasser Showhan, a Syrian archaeologist, specializes in the heritage of eastern Syria (the eastern governorates of Syria).
